FTD Florist is Well Known For Famous Symbol; Mercury Man

The FTD symbol, Mercury Man has been associated with flower shops for as long as I can remember. I just have never been certain what made an FTD Florist different from other floral shops.

I have learned that the humble birth of this famous company was in 1910 when a small group of American florists put their heads together to come up with a way to serve each others’ out of town clients by exchanging floral arrangement orders from their customers through the telegraph. There by creating FTD or Florists’ Telegraph Delivery!

Mercury Man was born in 1914 as the company logo and has become an international symbol that brings flower delivery to the minds of all that see him!

Although Mercury Man is still the logo today the name of the company has changed with the times to Transworld Delivery Company but still known as FTD.

Now when you see this famous symbol in the window of your favorite FTD Florist you will know a little bit more about the history of the company and that it has a strong affiliate backing that will allow you to have flowers delivered anywhere in the world at any time of day!
